about us

the story

As the great Tom T. Hall once sang, “I like Beer, It makes me a jolly good fellow!” With that in mind, Expedinture Brewery started with two beer loving friends, Keith and Heath, attending a home brew class. They were soon joined by another friend and beer enthusiast, Mig, and Expedinture was officially born.

A few years later, two more, Cody and Tom, joined the family and we soon broke ground on our brewery fulfilling a lifelong dream. Now we are working hard to brew great beer focusing on more traditional styles. Our slogan is “Not quite an Expedition but more than an Adventure” so we invite you to visit our taproom, try our great beer and find your own Expedinture.

expedinture

noun

ex·pe·din·ture | \ ek-ˈspe-din-chər \

Definition of Expedinture
not quite an expedition but more than an adventure; That trip to Vegas was
quite the expedinture.

Origin of Expedinture
Long ago and after a few frosted barley pops, one of our founders was trying
to describe a momentous time. After a slip of the tongue, a new word was
created. Following an impromptu explanation of the meaning of this new word
(expedition and adventure mashed together), “Expedinture” was born and it
has been used by us to describe various outings ever since. Expedinture is
also the perfect explanation of what our journey in designing, brewing and
enjoying beer has been. Now we want to share our word, our experience, and
our beer with you in hopes that they take you on an expedinture of your
own.

Favorite Quotes: “Well ya see, Norm, it’s like this… A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That’s why you always feel smarter after a few beers.” – Cliff Clavin
